Hershey weekend scene

Weekend itinerary

Friday on Chocolate Avenue, Saturday at Hersheypark, Sunday at Chocolate World.

Check in Friday for a town dinner and the Kiss-shaped streetlights, spend Saturday on Hersheypark’s rides and Boardwalk, then take the free Chocolate Tour Sunday morning before the drive home.

By Cal Mercer — a Second Star Guide itinerary

Hersheypark’s coaster skyline fills Saturday, while Chocolate Avenue and the free Chocolate Tour frame the arrival and departure.

Best length

2 nights

Two nights allow Friday dinner, a full Saturday inside Hersheypark, and the free Chocolate Tour after Sunday breakfast.

Stay

Tru by Hilton Hershey Chocolate Avenue

A contemporary Chocolate Avenue hotel close to central Hershey, suited to families prioritizing an easy return…

Main activity

Hersheypark

Hersheypark owns Saturday; Chocolate Avenue introduces the town Friday and the free chocolate tour closes the trip Sunday.

Pace

Friday town, Saturday park, Sunday chocolate

A fixed two-night sequence for first-time families, with Hershey Gardens reserved as the fair-weather alternative to Sunday’s indoor chocolate stop.

Friday

Check in, eat near Chocolate Avenue, and see the Kiss lights.

Reach the hotel around 4:00 PM, take a 6:30 dinner reservation in town, and walk a short stretch of Chocolate Avenue before bed.

Saturday

Enter Hersheypark in the morning and stay through the evening rides.

Breakfast at 8:30, park gates around opening time, a midday water-or-shade block, and one planned dinner create a full day without a second attraction complex.

4:30 PM

Afternoon

Use late afternoon for The Boardwalk, the hotel pool, or a dry-clothes break.

When The Boardwalk is open, decide whether water rides own the afternoon. Otherwise use shade, a room break, or a short pause before the evening coaster block.

Sunday

Eat breakfast, take the free Chocolate Tour, and start home.

Begin at I&E Craft Kitchen or another confirmed breakfast, reach Chocolate World for the free tour, then leave after one treat or reserved candy experience.
